I’m the same way. That’s why my garage is such a mess. My kids always want to help, but they invariably end up finding old toys etc. in the garage and spend more time playing than helping. Then they get bored and go inside to play Terraria.

It’s that way for all kids.
Getting my kids to clean is impossible, but I’ve finally figured out how to get them to leave me alone when they’re bored. Just tell them they have to clean their rooms. They sit in there and play for hours without coming out.

My boys just go in there and fight and make the room worse. Telling them to do anything just starts what I call, “Crazy stupid idiot time.”

You don't have to be good with discipline, you just have to be consistent. And if you threaten to do something, by God you'd better do it. If you ever go back on you word kids will pick that up quick. In spite of being generally stupid, kids are wicked smart.

I just put an air chuck on my air compressor and they blow plastic bottles around. Somethimes they find my fire works and want to go blow stuff up. The high pressure washer is the worst, they just want to use it to dig holes in the yard or make rainbows.
